Landscape Level Advisory Committee meeting
The first landscape-level advisory committee meeting for the Pakke-Eaglenest landscape was organized with stakeholders from different line departments to discuss program implementation at the landscape level.

Consultation workshop on Landscape level management, species recovery plan, and SOPs for population assessment and monitoring with a special focus on Caracal at Ranthambore, Rajasthan.
Contours of the landscape-level master plan, species recovery plan, and small wild cat population management and monitoring protocols were discussed with representatives from academic and research institutes, civil society organizations, and other relevant stakeholders who had previously worked in the landscape.

National Green Business Platform Meeting

National-level meeting with Business houses and industry representatives at New Delhi
This interactive consultation meeting between business groups and officials from the priority landscapes built upon the initial deliberations and developments by investigating the viability of the strategy proposed and the potential areas of investment. The strategy document prepared in line with the first consultation that highlights the areas of collaboration with business groups, the mechanism for the same, and the trust fund structure was also deliberated.
Other potential areas of collaboration/partnerships for community-based conservation with wild cats as mascots were also discussed which would support community stewardship, skill development, and livelihood-based initiatives.

Meeting with Business & Industrial Groups

Regional-level meeting with business houses and industry representatives to establish a green business platform.
The consultation was organized to explore possible areas of collaboration and contributions from business groups operating in the project landscapes for institutionalizing a green business platform, apart from working out other financial mechanisms.

National Inception Workshop
November 16, 2022
A one-day National level Inception Workshop was organized by GoI-GEF-UNDP-WWF US-GTF at Dudhwa National Park, Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, India to incorporate inputs from the stakeholders across the three states and the Government of India. The project aims to secure the conservation of globally significant wild cat landscapes in northern, north-eastern, and western India through a landscape conservation approach that brings together species conservation programs, connects stakeholders and empowers communities, and operates across PAs, tiger corridors, and buffer zones.

The deliberations of the members pertained to program implementation, finance, human resources, and operations of project implementation at the State level

January 2023
District-level football tournament to propagate small wild cat conservation.
To improve understanding of the conservation values of small wild cats to create awareness and generate positive attitudes towards their conservation amongst target audiences including National and State Government Line agencies and concerned NGO’s the project supported a football tournament in Pakke Tiger Reserve with the Seijosa Football Club under the theme ‘Wild Cats Football Tournament’. The inaugural event was hosted by the football club with 12 teams, each adopting a small cat as their team’s name and mascot. This event was a landscape-level campaign towards the conservation of small cats aiming to sensitize the local communities. Knowledge material was also distributed amongst the participants and audience to further awareness about the species and the project.

State-level Inception Workshop
December 20, 2022
A one-day state-level inception workshop was conducted at Pakke Tiger Reserve, Seijosa, Arunachal Pradesh with relevant stakeholders and local communities from the landscape to discuss strategies for the conservation of wild cats with a focus on small wild cats.
The workshop was attended by the representatives of Arunachal Pradesh Forest Department, GTF, WWF-India, Community members of Pakke-Eaglenest landscape, Scientists from SACON, and WII.
